Hospital Ministry
The CBCI General Body meeting in 2008 at Jamshedpur took the historical decision to open a Medical College and hospital as a solace to the people of the tribal heartland in Chotanagpur. The MSFS Congregation was invited by the Vice-President of the CBCI His Eminence Cardinal Telesphore P. Toppo to collaborate with the CBCI Project at Ranchi. Although the invitation was originally to the entire Congregation, the MSFS North East Province accepted the project in 2014 at the bid of the Superior General of the MSFS. On June 3, 2015, an MoU was signed between the North East India Province of the MSFS represented by Fr George Panthanmackel, the Provincial, and the CBCI represented by His Eminence Cardinal Baselios Cleemis Catholicos by which the administration of the Medical college Project was entrusted to the North East India Province of the MSFS for a period of 25 years with renewable clause.
In the first phase of the project, infrastructure for a 500 bed hospital and the Medical College, Nursing College, Hostel Facilities and other ancillary units are being constructed. In this competitive market CLHRC has well advanced and equipped medical facilities like NICU, ICU, USG, Digital X-Ray etc. The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) is already refurnished and Intensive Care Unit (ICU); Operation theatre and X-Ray Room are also ready for service of the patients. The modern medical equipment’s are being installed in the hospital to efficiently manage the operation procedures. Centralized oxygen gas line has been established in the hospital. For meeting the food requirement of the patients and attendants full time canteen is also functional now. The hospital is now well equipped with security measures with night vision cameras. Rural health camps and outreach programs help the hospital service extended to the people of outskirts. Highly qualified and dedicated medical staff and other staff have been placed in to take the project/hospital to a new height of excellence.
