Communication Ministry: Fransalian Communication, Narengi
Realizing the role that communication ministry can play in the work of evangelization, a media and communication centre was established at MSFS Provincial House, Guwahati.
Fr Jiji Konthananickal was appointed the Founder Director of the ‘Fransalian Communications’on August 15, 2005 with residence and office at SFS Bhavan, Sreenagar, Dispur. ‘Fransalian Communications’ contributed in enhancing the pastoral ministry in Northeast India during the past years. It reached out to the people through various courses and workshops like Media training courses, teachers trainings programmes, videography and photography courses etc. He distinguished himself as an excellent photographer and videographer over the years. He served the office as its Director till 2011. Fransalian Communication produced many videos and documentaries, including a documentary on North East India Province titled ‘Hand on Heart’.
Fr Shaibu Ezhanikattu was appointed the Director of Fransalian Communication on May 27, 2012. On February 9, 2013 a studio with multiple facilities like voice recording, still photography, editing suits, pre-view theatre and a stock room. It was blessed by Most Rev. John Moolachira, Archbishop of Guwahati.
Media Ministry has lots of scope in the field of evangelization today. The current pandemic situation has led many to resort to online transmission of programmes especially Holy Mass, Recollecllection, annual Retreats etc.
