Ka Syiem Jingsuk Secondary School, Amalarem
Ka Syiem Jingsuk Secondary School, Amalarem, was only a village school until the MSFS established the Mission at amalarem in the year 1994. When the MSFS took over the running of the school in 1994, it was an Upper Primary school with less than 100 children. Over the years, the school has made steady progress both in quantity and quality. As of now, the school has a total of 460 students. The school receives 100% percent results in Board examinations every year. In 2010, the school also had a state rank holder. The parish runs Mermier Boys Hostel with 25 residents, while the VSDB sisters manage Ka Syiem Jingsuk hostel for girls with 45 inmates.
The parish has a total of 7 schools spread across Amlarem SubDivision. Out of these, 3 are secondary school, namely Ka Syiem Jingsuk-Amlarem, St Joseph School-Nongtalang and SFS school-Dawki. These schools provide employment to 40 teachers, from LKG to Secondary level. Most of the seven schools are self-sufficient though a few are supported by the parish.
Ka Syiem Jingsuk Secondary school celebrated its silver jubilee on Thursday, December 4, 2014. It was a moment of pride for all. During the past twenty-five years Ka Syiem Jingsuk has offered to its students and to the whole Sub- district Amlarem an inspiring example of dedication to duty and wholehearted commitment to inculcate in the students the principles of freedom, justice and democracy in keeping with a noble vision and teaching of Church. Saint Francis de Sales says;, ‘Never be in a hurry; do everything quietly and in a calm spirit. Do not lose your inner peace for anything whatsoever, even if your whole world seems upset’. This has been the energy and motto that made the school to grow majestically to what it is today from its simple and humble beginning before 25 years”.
